The Architect of the Snow Flake

He who marvels at the beauty of the world in summer will find equal cause for wonder and admiration in winter…. In winter the stars seem to have rekindled their fires, the moon achieves a fuller triumph, and the heavens wear a look of a more exalted simplicity.

~John Burroughs, “The Snow-Walkers,” 1866

It is the life of the crystal, the architect of the flake, the fire of the frost, the soul of the sunbeam. This crisp winter air is full of it.

~John Burroughs, “Winter Sunshine”

This is so awesome, Cynthia. I have been wondering where you were. Maybe you post and I am unaware. Missed you! Your photographs are truly an inspiration.

    • Thank you Drew! The activity on WordPress lightened a little after taking on some paid photography jobs- Glad to be back! Hope all is well!

You had gotten me so excited with your wonderful photography. I have been out a couple of times and today was the latest. Although it is still very cold, with a fair amount of snow on the ground, I did some driving. I have found such a collection of abandoned buildings all around my locality, and it is so amazing when you look for something and it is right under your nose in reality. I will be posting some photo’s but at present writing a poem a day for the month of April. I have a few photo’s up. I will search the names and write back so you can have a look. Hugs and glad you’re back too!

      • Thanks drew! I enjoy your poems and look forward to seeing the images you captured. It is amazing what our eyes pass by without a second look!!

Time Out and Forgotten Days are the two that I can find. Let me know what you think and if there is something you think you would change. I’m just a beginner so any advice would be great. Thanks so much for remembering me. Makes me feel good.

      • I will take a peak at these on the “big girl” computer when I get home! I am excited to see them!
